GENERAL SUMMARY: Assist nurses in daily operations, including various clinical and non-clinical tasks such as vital signs, weight measurements, data entry, etc. Work closely with Quality Assurance Nurse and Nursing Supervisor to ensure quality care and up-to-date documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assume the responsibility of filing in client’s charts in designated buildings.

Assume the responsibility of filing in long term filing at Nurse Office.

Assist in scheduling physician visits.

Assist the nursing staff in doctor rounds to the facility.
-
If requested, accompany clients to physician’s office off-grounds, ER visits, etc.
-
Maintenance/reorder supplies for Nursing.
-
Take mail to mailroom daily.
-
Assist Medical Secretary with trip ticket and billing (Passport).
-
Maintenance biohazard room.
-
Assist nursing staff, as needed assuming other duties as assigned.

Maintain Covid records and tracking logs.
-
Scan needed documents into electronic records.
-
File records of deceased residents for long term storage.
-
File copies of POS’ into notebooks in the nursing office monthly.

Monitor MARs for documentation as requested by DON and/or designee.

Chart Reviews in all assigned buildings to assure the following is up to date:
Monthly Labs as ordered
Nursing Notes
Quarterly TD Screening
IPA certification
Hearing/Vision evaluation
Quarterlies
Pressure ulcer assessment form
Annual doctor exams & progress notes
Immunizations up to date: tetanus toxoid, pneumonia every 5 yrs.,
TB skin tests
Medical record contents up to date
GYN & mammogram up to date
Thin charts as needed using attached guidelines (medical charts).

Cover nursing office when the secretary is off.

Computer entry as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
Must be 18 years of age. High School Diploma. DSP certification or equivalent. One year experience with MR/DD clients preferred. Must maintain updated CPR and 1st Aid Card. Must have and maintain a Class “D” Driver’s License. Must be able to transfer clients.
