Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Veterinary Assistant with experience. This role involves a balance of in-clinic duties and farm calls, working closely with veterinarians in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Handle and restrain large and small animals safely and effectively (cattle, horses, small ruminants, dogs, cats etc.)
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and treatment areas
- Administer medications and vaccines under veterinary supervision
- Support herd health visits, routine farm calls, and emergency services
- Maintain accurate medical records and client communication
- Perform laboratory tasks including sample collection and processing
- Assist with general clinic duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Mixed animal experience preferred
- Strong animal handling skills and physical ability to work with animals
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
