Position Summary:
The Housekeeping Steward/Houseperson plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the hotel. This position supports Room Attendants by ensuring guest floors, public areas, and housekeeping storage areas are fully stocked, clean, and operating efficiently. The Housekeeping Steward helps create an exceptional guest experience throughout the hotel by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hospitality while responding promptly to the needs of guests and fellow team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and back-of-house spaces
- Assist Room Attendants with tasks such as removing trash, delivering linens, and restocking supplies
- Transport clean and soiled linens to and from laundry areas
- Ensure housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests (e.g., extra towels, amenities, rollaway beds)
- Support deep cleaning projects and special assignments as directed by management
- Maintain cleanliness of exterior entryways and assist with basic grounds upkeep as needed
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or lost and found items according to hotel procedures
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and brand standards
Qualifications:
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred, but not required
- Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods
- Ability to push/pull carts and equipment throughout the shift
Work Environment:
- Indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and detergents
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
