About the Role
The Merch & Swag Account Executive is responsible for growing Printleaf's merch division — driving new business and expanding accounts across the full range of custom promotional products, from branded apparel to drinkware, tech, bags, stationery, and beyond. You'll play a key role in shaping how we source, sell, scale, and deliver branded merch, bringing client campaigns to life through high quality, on brand products while building a book of recurring accounts as we grow.
We are looking for someone with hands-on experience selling promotional merchandise or branded products to take ownership of pipeline, pricing, and client relationships. This is a high impact role with real ownership, where you will directly influence revenue, account strategy, and commercial outcomes. In this role, you will operate in a fast moving, high volume environment, managing multiple opportunities at once while balancing speed, margin, and client experience. You will own the end to end sales process — turning ideas into quotes, quotes into orders, and one-off jobs into long-term programs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business across the full merch catalog — apparel, drinkware, tech, bags, and other promotional products. Build out Printleaf's merch pipeline as the division scales.
- Build and manage a pipeline of inbound and outbound opportunities across agencies, corporate teams, schools, events, and direct clients.
- Own the full sales cycle: discovery, pitch, quote, negotiation, and close.
- Set pricing that balances market competitiveness with strong margin performance for Printleaf.
- Use Printleaf's NYC location, in-house heat press, and trusted supplier network to deliver fast turnarounds as a competitive edge in every pitch.
- Curate product recommendations, lookbooks, bundles, and curated swag boxes/kits that make it easy for clients to buy across a variety of use cases.
- Hit and exceed quarterly revenue and margin targets set by the leadership team.
Account & Order Management
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts and grow them into repeat, recurring business.
- Translate client briefs into accurate quotes, then coordinate with Production and suppliers to move orders from approval to delivery.
- Oversee large or complex orders requiring multiple suppliers, decoration methods, or custom product development.
- Manage a high volume of concurrent opportunities, balancing speed, cost, and quality across multiple stakeholders.
- Keep CRM records, pipeline data, and order details accurate and up to date.
Process & Collaboration
- Work closely with our Production team and outside suppliers to scope feasibility, decoration methods, timelines, and pricing before committing to clients.
- Provide feedback that helps refine product offerings, bundles, and catalog selection.
- Lead continuous improvement in the sales and quoting process.
- Establish and evolve playbooks, templates, and SOPs alongside cross-functional teams to sharpen workflows and tools.
About You
- Experience selling promotional merchandise or branded apparel, working directly with clients, suppliers, and decorators
- Proven experience sourcing a wide range of promotional products — apparel, drinkware, tech, bags, stationery, and more — and coordinating with suppliers, decorators, or vendors, including getting quotes, managing timelines, and resolving production issues
- Know how to build and price curated swag boxes and kits — selecting complementary products, sourcing components, and packaging them into a cohesive client offering
- Proven track record of building pipeline, closing deals, and growing accounts
- Strong understanding of decoration and production methods (heat press, screen print, embroidery, and more) and the ability to guide clients toward the right product and process
- Solid grasp of design principles and the ability to communicate them clearly
- Experience using promotional product software such as SAGE, CommonSKU, Hoops, MPower Promo, NetSuite, or similar
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar
- Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple opportunities across internal and external stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy across quotes, pricing, and orders
- Able to manage workload effectively in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Strong business acumen with a cost-conscious, margin-aware mindset
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team oriented approach
