Job Summary
Accurate Air Solutions is seeking a reliable, hands-on Shop and Yard Maintenance Personnel for our Abilene shop and yard. This position is responsible for keeping the shop, yard, trailers, equipment, tools, and supplies clean, organized, maintained, secure, and ready for daily operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, self-directed, mechanically inclined, and able to identify and address small issues before they become larger problems. This position works closely with the Shop Manager, field crews, project managers, and office staff to help keep company operations running safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Open the shop and yard each morning before crews arrive.
- Secure all shop doors and gates and set the alarm at the end of each workday.
- Inspect every trailer in the yard daily, including tires, lights, wiring, brakes, and visible damage.
- Document trailer inspections and report or repair identified problems before trailers are used.
- Complete minor trailer repairs, including replacing lights and repairing wiring.
- Monitor trailer inspection and registration expiration dates and notify the Shop Manager of upcoming renewals.
- Inspect, grease, wash, and perform routine maintenance on shop and yard equipment.
- Report equipment damage, leaks, wear, or repair needs to the Shop Manager.
- Maintain current inspection and service records for fire extinguishers.
- Complete a monthly inventory of all Abilene shop tools.
- Track tools and equipment assigned to jobsites for extended periods.
- Report missing, damaged, or unaccounted-for tools and equipment.
- Empty shop trash cans and keep the shop, yard, walkways, and work areas clean and orderly.
- Mow and maintain the shop yard and surrounding grounds.
- Keep the scrap area organized and separate scrap, usable materials, and trash.
- Maintain an adequate supply of bottled water for employees.
- Keep restrooms stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap.
- Monitor propane, diesel, and other shop supplies and notify the Shop Manager before supplies run out.
- Replace office HVAC filters each month.
- Deliver tools, materials, and parts to field crews using a company vehicle.
- Notify the Shop Manager before leaving the property for deliveries, errands, or other off-site duties.
- Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and professional work environment.
- Perform additional shop-related duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.
Experience
- Previous experience in shop operations, yard maintenance, fleet maintenance, general maintenance, or a comparable hands-on mechanical position.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for deliveries and errands.
- Basic knowledge of trailer lights, wiring, tires, and brakes preferred.
- Experience completing minor mechanical, equipment, or trailer repairs.
- Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance, including inspecting, greasing, and washing equipment.
- Experience with tool inventory, equipment inventory, or asset tracking preferred.
- Ability to maintain accurate inspection, inventory, and compliance records.
- Ability to work independently, follow a consistent schedule, and complete responsibilities without constant supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize maintenance, safety, supply, or compliance issues.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to open the shop on time each workday.
- Trustworthy and responsible when handling company tools, equipment, vehicles, and property.
- Physically able to lift, bend, perform maintenance tasks, and work outdoors in Texas weather.
- Willingness to keep the Shop Manager informed and follow company safety and security procedures.
- Professional attitude and pride in maintaining company property.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
