Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated bandsaw operator to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, cutting steel parts for structural steel assemblies, railing and other misc. steel assemblies with precision. The ideal candidate must have experience with blueprint interpretation, experience reading a tape measure and using angle protractors and other tools. Experience with power tools and welding equipment is a big plus!
Duties
- Ability to move steel material around by hand and/or with a forklift.
- Measure dimensions precisely using standard tools to guarantee quality control and proper fitment of steel assemblies.
- Collaborate with project managers and other workers to interpret technical drawings, and parts cut lists.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for precise parts
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, drills, clamps, and measuring devices; familiar with power tools for efficient work
- Strong knowledge of steel handling, cutting
- Ability to ensure dimensional measurements for quality assurance
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Handyman experience is a plus—capable of performing minor repairs or adjustments as needed
- Familiarity with construction plans and ability to interpret technical drawings for complex projects
