About the Job: A busy, expanding eyecare practice is looking to hire an Optical Assistant.
The perfect candidate will:
- Greet patients and clients with a positive attitude.
- Verify insurance eligibility and calculate insurance co-pay based on insurance eligibility.
- Schedule and sign-in patients.
- Call patients when their glasses are ready for pick up.
- Make sure daily schedule is printed out and Doctors know what patients are coming for.
- Scan insurances, patients’ forms, and other documents as necessary.
- Assist doctors and other supporting staff with pre-testing, as necessary.
- Call no-show patients and schedule them.
- Enter data (eyeglass sales, prescriptions, patients’ information) in Eyepic’s software as needed.
- Check supplies needed for the store when needed.
- Drive profitable sales results by fostering a fashion forward culture that focuses on educating the client and helping them meet their needs.
- Fill Ophthalmic eyeglasses prescription taking into account the lens and frame options of each prescription.
- Recommend specific lens type, materials, and coating to suit clients’ needs. -Utilize optical prescription in conjunction with the clients visual and fashion requirements.
- Perform any appropriate optical related measurements.
- Understand and educate the client on the various frame and lens style, material, and functions to empowers clients buying decisions.
- Create industry leading clients experience throughout transparent pricing, point of sale entry and realistic order fulfillment time quotes.
- Other duties as assigned by store manager.
- Keep the place organized and clean.
Qualifications:
- Detail Oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.

- Experience working in a medical/optical office setting preferred.
- Multi-tasking strength.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Team player.
- Must have optical experience (1 year minimum)
