Position Summary
Montana Language Services is seeking a qualified ASL/English Interpreter to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in Helena, Montana. This is a full-time, education focused role with a consistent schedule and long term placement supporting the same students throughout the school year.
This position offers stability, meaningful work, and close collaboration with school staff and special education teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ASL to English and English to ASL interpretation in classroom and school based settings
- Support student access to instruction, peer interaction, and school activities
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and the Teacher of the Deaf
- Follow student IEPs and accessibility plans
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
- Participate in school meetings and team collaboration as needed
Qualifications
- Proficiency in ASL and English required
- Experience interpreting in educational or K-12 settings preferred
- Understanding of Deaf culture and educational accessibility
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
