We are looking for a team member to provide individualized training and support to individuals with disabilities by working closely with the Job Coach to address specific needs. This support is provided in a coffee shop setting. The shop roasts its own coffee beans for shop operation and to sell to public in store and at special events throughout the year. Support staff will need to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages in the shop. Support staff will also be responsible to attend community events/activities to promote Roastery and to sell products. To be successful in this role, you should have some retail and customer service skills. You need to be able to work independently and demonstrate the ability to take initiative. Flexibility is required in hours and shifts to include mornings, evening and weekend hours. You need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Responsibilities
- Provide skills training and monitorship to individuals with disabilities on the different functions of the shop to include coffee roasting, packaging and service delivery.
- Greet customers as they enter
- Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Prepare/serve beverages following recipes
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Maintain cleanliness of shop
- Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
- Attend community events - set up/take down booth, prepare beverages, sell merchandise.
Skills
- Previous work experience in retail and or customer services
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma; relevant training is a plus

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
