Duties
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning to support daily menu needs
- Cook and assemble dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and knives
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food in line with event specifications
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Strong knife skills with proper slicing techniques; ability to handle kitchen tools safely
- Experience with food handling, meal preparation, and recipe adherence
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new culinary techniques and procedures
