Sous Chef – Chef Tournant (Floating Sous, TFB Catering)
TFB Catering is seeking a Sous Chef to join our talented team — this role is built for a chef tournant: a sous who pivots across our catering units based on business needs, event volume, and where support is needed most. One week you might be anchoring prep at TFB Catering in our downtown Lancaster kitchen, the next supporting a large-scale event off site in the region, or stepping in at Rock Lititz Studio Kitchen when the schedule demands it. We are a full-service catering company providing an exceptional experience for our clients across social, corporate, and wedding events. We execute events from 20 to 3,000 guests. Responsibilities
Help and support our Executive Chefs across TFB Catering's units with the following:
- Flexing between catering kitchens/units as business volume and staffing needs require
- Assisting in the research and development of new menu items
- Overseeing daily and weekly prep across assigned units
- Training and developing staff in multiple kitchen environments
- Responsible for inventory and ordering
- Preparing menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Following and maintaining food safety protocols across all locations
- Communicating effectively with other Managers, Chefs, and departments to coordinate coverage
- Assisting in the preparation of both on- and off-site events, including high-volume execution
Requirements
- 5+ years of culinary experience
- Comfortable working across multiple kitchens/units and adapting quickly to different teams and environments
- Team-oriented attitude
- Experience with events
- Must have reliable transportation (travel between Lancaster, Lititz and off site locations required)
- Love of food and people
- Passion for hospitality
- Technical knowledge of food and food safety
- ServSafe Certified
