Substitute Crisis Intervention Specialists
This position serves as a substitute for the full and part time Crisis Intervention Specialists as needed who provide 24 hours coverage of the hotline, text line and the safe housing program.
VFF is seeking gentle, warm, ethical, and grounded individuals desiring to serve as substitute domestic and sexual violence shelter and hotline advocates. We seek to serve survivors with a team of advocates dedicated to promote respect, compassion, integrity and empowerment. Successful candidates will have extensive availability to come in 24 hours a day to fill-in a shift. The 24 hour schedule is a rotating schedule. Successful candidates will also be happy to gain knowledge about positively responding to trauma victims and learning shelter operations. Tasks will include timely response to the 24 hour crisis hotline, conducting shelter intakes, assessment of needs, providing diverse population with culturally effective crisis intervention, engaging and maintaining a positive relationship with survivors being served, participating in training/direction of intern students and volunteers, coordination of shelter activities with Safe Housing Director, and operating as part of a professional and caring multi-disciplinary team. Ongoing supervision and training provided. We are located in Xenia and serve all of Greene County.
