The Coordinator / Lead Assistant is responsible for supporting and managing key activities within our school's Immersion Program. This position supports the smooth operation of daily activities and balances administrative responsibilities with classroom and staff support, ensuring compliance with the State licensing requirements while fostering a positive environment for children, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with classroom coverage and daily routines as needed to maintain teacher–child ratios.
- At WorldKids School®, we ensure child safety and supervise transitions, meals, and outdoor play when needed.
- Follow WorldKids School®’s curriculum to support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Oversee employee communication and respond to employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate staff records (attendance, time off, certifications, evaluations) in compliance with licensing and employment regulations.
- Review and approve staff timecards and time off requests.
- Coordinate staff schedules, including rest and meal breaks, to ensure compliance with the required teacher-to-student ratio.
- At WorldKids School®, we foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development among staff members.
- Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
Requirements:
- Must meet State licensing requirements for child care staff.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain).
- Strong understanding of child care licensing rules and employment regulations for child care settings.
- Experience in early childhood education, program coordination, or staff supervision preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff, families, and community partners.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Fluency in the languages offered in the program (preferred/required based on center needs).
- Must successfully pass the State background check.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English
