Role Purpose
The Veterinary Technician plays a key role in supporting medical excellence, team cohesion, and daily hospital flow. Your presence, communication, and reliability help keep the day running smoothly while you grow your clinical skills alongside a supportive team.

Employment Type and Schedule
Full-time. Schedule and days to be coordinated based on hospital needs and candidate availability.
What You'll Do — Clinical Care
- IV catheter placement, venipuncture, blood draws (preferred but not required)
- Anesthesia monitoring and recovery
- Dental cleanings and radiography
- Diagnostic testing and patient preparation
- Fear-Free handling and patient comfort
- Maintain accurate medical history and documentation
- Support client education
- Room turnover — cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms between patients to prevent the spread of contagious disease
What You'll Do — Client Communication and Phone Duties
As a technician, you serve as the clinical voice of the practice on the phone. Your medical knowledge allows you to handle calls that go well beyond scheduling.
- Phone triage — assess symptom descriptions from pet owners and determine whether a situation requires emergency care, a same-day visit, or a scheduled appointment
- Medical questions — answer questions about symptoms, dietary needs, and general animal care within your scope
- Medication and aftercare — explain how to administer prescriptions at home and relay post-operative care instructions
- Client follow-ups — check in on hospitalized or recovering patients to monitor progress and flag concerns to the veterinarian
- Doctor communication — triage incoming questions and escalate complex, diagnosis-dependent, or urgent inquiries directly to the veterinarian
- Scheduling — book appointments, surgeries, and specialized visits
- Prescription refills — process refill requests and confirm veterinarian approval before release
- Documentation — accurately log call details into the patient’s medical record, which serves as a legal document for the practice

What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on veterinary clinical experience
- Solid technical foundation with room to grow
- Clear, respectful, and proactive communicator
- Comfortable with collaborative decision-making and accountability
- Open to feedback and continuous improvement
- Accountable, emotionally mature, and team-oriented
Licensure is welcome but not required. Mindset, communication, and fit matter most.
