Cable Communications, Inc. (CCI) is a growing low-voltage contractor specializing in structured cabling, access control, surveillance, fiber optics, and commercial technology solutions. We're looking for an experienced Lead Access Control Technician who takes pride in quality work, enjoys solving problems, and is ready to grow with our company.
This position offers a clear opportunity to advance. During your first 90 days, you'll focus on leading field installations. Based on performance and company needs, you may have the opportunity to transition into a Project Management role with additional incentive compensation.
What You'll Do
- Install, troubleshoot, and service commercial access control systems.
- Lead installation crews while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Coordinate projects to ensure they stay on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and teammates.
- Take ownership of projects from start to finish.
- Perform structured cabling and other low-voltage installations when access control work is unavailable.
- Train and mentor technicians on access control best practices when needed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience installing and servicing commercial access control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading crews or managing field projects.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and modern technology tools.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience
- Commercial low-voltage installation
- Structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Fiber)
- Door hardware and electric locking devices
- Access control programming and commissioning
- Reading blueprints and project documentation
Travel
- Minimum 40-hour work week.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Travel assignments will not exceed three consecutive weeks.
- If a project requires remaining onsite through a weekend, those hours are paid at 1.5x your regular hourly rate.
Vehicle & Tools
- A company vehicle will be provided when available.
- Until then, mileage reimbursement is paid for work-related travel using your personal vehicle.
- Technicians are expected to provide their own standard hand tools, including tools required for structured cabling and access control work.
- CCI supplies specialty equipment such as fiber testers, copper certification testers, fusion splicers, SDS hammer drills, and specialty termination tools.
Growth Opportunity
This position begins as a Lead Technician role with a 90-day evaluation period. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to expand into Project Management responsibilities, including:
- Scheduling technicians
- Managing project scope
- Ordering and staging materials
- Coordinating with customers and vendors
- Assisting with project invoicing
Project Managers participate in CCI's performance-based incentive program tied to project profitability.
