We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to lead our nursing team and ensure high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and demonstrate effective management abilities in a healthcare setting. This role requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, team collaboration, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct patient assessments and provide direct nursing care as needed.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation and maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor quality of care and implement improvement initiatives as necessary.
- Provide guidance on clinical best practices, including medication administration, IV insertion, and wound care.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Participate in utilization review processes to ensure appropriate resource allocation.
Requirements
- Current nursing license with relevant supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current Home Health Care experience.
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with acute care, ICU, or emergency medicine is advantageous.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or geriatrics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and DRG classifications.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in senior care settings is desirable.
- Familiarity with case management principles and discharge planning processes.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS may be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
