Job Overview
Our office is adding another doctor and we are looking for an All-Star dental assistant to add to our team! As a dental assistant, you will play a key role in creating a positive patient experience while supporting the dentist in all aspects of clinical care. This position is responsible for assisting during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking dental x-rays, and helping ensure efficient daily operation within the practice. Dental Assistants help patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for procedures.
- Assist dentists chairside during various dental treatments, including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontic work.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization and handling of medical equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Support overall office flow and patient experience.
Qualifications
- DANB certification REQUIRED
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and vital signs measurement.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
Hours
Monday-Thursday: 9:00 am -5:00 pm
Every Other Friday: 9:00 am -2:00 pm
