Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Daycare Closing Manager to oversee the safe and efficient closing procedures of our childcare facility. In this vital role, you will ensure that all children, staff, and visitors depart safely while maintaining compliance with licensing standards and company policies. Your leadership will foster a secure, nurturing environment during the closing hours, supporting the overall well-being of children and staff alike. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, experienced in classroom management, and dedicated to creating a positive, organized end-of-day experience for everyone involved. Hours are 2:30 to 6pm daily.
Duties
- Lead the closing process by ensuring all children are safely dismissed and accounted for according to established procedures
- Oversee classroom cleanup, organization, and safety checks to prepare for the next day’s activities
- Manage staff during closing hours, providing guidance on behavior management and caregiving routines
- Conduct safety inspections of the facility, including playground areas, classrooms, and common spaces
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians during pick-up times to relay important information or address concerns
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incident reports, and daily activity logs in compliance with licensing requirements
- Ensure all cleaning protocols are followed to uphold health standards and sanitation regulations
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting
- Classroom management skills with a focus on behavior management and caregiving routines
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience with working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; ongoing training preferred
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to infant care, toddler care, and preschool environments
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead a team during busy closing hours
