Index Packaging is seeking an experienced, hands-on Corrugated Production Supervisor to lead our Corrugated Manufacturing department. This position is responsible for supervising daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, maintaining a safe work environment, and developing a high-performing production team.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys coaching employees, solving production challenges, and leading by example on the manufacturing floor.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the Corrugated Manufacturing department
- Assign production priorities based on customer demand and production schedules
- Ensure production goals, quality standards, and deadlines are achieved
- Train, coach, and develop production employees
- Monitor productivity and address workflow issues proactively
- Read and interpret production specifications and work orders
- Operate and troubleshoot corrugated fabrication equipment as needed
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, maintenance, and minor repairs
- Ensure all safety procedures and housekeeping standards are followed
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material needs
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments to improve efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Previous manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Corrugated packaging or converting experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable
- Strong maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting skills required
- Machine maintenance and repair experience required
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn new software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly lift up to 35 pounds
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Safely operate manufacturing equipment and handle production tooling
