Old North State Landscape Development is a high-end, design, build, and landscape maintenance company, providing services to residential clients in the Triangle region. We are a local, family-operated contractor located in Durham, North Carolina. We are a close-knit team, working in a fast-paced, production-oriented atmosphere. ONS seeks an experienced or willing to learn, positive, and friendly pool maintenance technician who identifies as a problem solver, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently. Work will be based out of our Maintenance Division and will be performed at a range of residential properties throughout the Triangle.
Skills & Responsibilities
The core duties and responsibilities of the ONS Pool Maintenance Technician revolve around responding to client needs with patience, positivity, and a problem solving attitude.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Performing general pool maintenance duties such as emptying skimmer baskets, skimming the top surface, brushing and vacuuming pools.
- Checking and adjusting the water level of pools.
- Testing chemicals and adding sanitizer, chlorine, acids, etc. to balance pool water as necessary.
- Inspecting the filtration systems, flushing and cleaning when needed.
- Cleaning tile and coping around the pool surface as needed or upon client request.
- Preparing daily job reports, including photos, for submission to client and office.
- Maintaining schedules and client communication in collaboration with ONS Administrative Coordinator.
- Communicating daily with ONS management, providing feedback and updates.
- Making decisions independently on a daily basis, for the optimal outcome.
Job Requirements
- Previous pool industry experience is preferred but not required. Coachability is most important!
- Must have strong customer service skills and an interest in learning.
- The candidate must be willing to work 8-10 hour days, primarily in an outdoor setting.
- A valid North Carolina’s Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs plus and engaging in physical labor in North Carolina summer heat.
- Proficiency with a smartphone or tablet and the ability to work through app-based systems.
- CPO is a plus but not required.
