Position: Delivery Driver (non-CDL)
Reports To: Driver Team Lead
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $21.50-$22.50 / hour
Work Location Type: Field-Based
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Minimum one (1) year of delivery driving experience required.
Prior customer service or merchandising experience preferred.
Experience operating delivery vehicles (box truck, van, or similar) preferred.
Familiarity with handheld delivery or routing devices helpful.
Licensing and Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
Must maintain a current Medical Certification, if required by state or company policy.
Must pass all required background, drug, and motor vehicle checks.
Must be 24 years of age or older (for insurance purposes).
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must comply with all company and applicable traffic safety regulations.
Physical Requirements and Workplace Conditions:
This position involves frequent driving, lifting, bending, and manual handling of cases weighing up to 60 pounds. Work occurs in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including warehouses, loading docks, and retail environments. The role requires full mobility, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly while operating safely in all road and weather conditions.
Essential Functions and Skills:
Safety and Compliance
- Operate company vehicles safely and follow all traffic laws and company safety standards
- Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues promptly
- Maintain delivery logs and required documentation accurately and completely
Vehicle Operation and Maintenance
- Ensure vehicle readiness, cleanliness, and proper fueling
- Report any mechanical issues or damage to supervisor immediately
- Handle vehicle operation safely in varied road and weather conditions
Delivery and Product Handling
- Load, secure, and unload products efficiently and safely
- Verify orders and deliveries against invoices and manifests
- Rotate stock, maintain product quality, and ensure accurate returns
- Support merchandising standards including product rotation, shelf organization, and backstock cleanliness
Customer Service and Communication
- Deliver products courteously and professionally to customers
- Communicate with store management and personnel to confirm delivery accuracy and resolve issues
- Notify supervisor of any delivery delays, product discrepancies, or safety concerns
- Represent the company positively and promote excellent customer relationships
Administrative and Team Support
- Use electronic delivery, routing, and communication tools effectively
- Turn in completed paperwork, payments, and returns daily
- Assist warehouse or merchandising teams as needed to support overall operations
- Other Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with customer policies, company safety standards, and health regulations
- Report unsafe practices, accidents, or equipment issues immediately
- Maintain confidentiality of company information and adhere to conduct standards in the Employee Handbook
- Support company safety and compliance initiatives
- Use sound judgment and seek guidance when appropriate
