Overview
Kudzu Staffing is seeking a dedicated Pipefitter Helper to join our construction and industrial maintenance team. In this role, you will assist experienced pipefitters in the installation, assembly, and maintenance of piping systems across various projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in pipefitting, welding, and fabrication within a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in reading and interpreting construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints related to piping systems.
- Support pipefitters with cutting, threading, and assembling pipes using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prepare materials and components for pipe installation, including measuring, marking, and fabricating pipe sections.
- Perform basic welding tasks such as MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and pipe welding under supervision.
- Help with the installation of sprinkler systems and fire sprinkler fitting according to NFPA standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of tools and equipment.
- Assist with pipe threading, tube bending, soldering, and assembly tasks following construction plans and specifications.
- Support rigging operations for lifting and positioning pipes safely on construction sites.
- Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety protocols during daily operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Previous experience working on construction sites or industrial facilities involving pipe installation or maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and understanding construction plans.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, pipefitting techniques, and fabrication processes.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, pipe threading equipment, and tube bending tools.
- Understanding of welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, TIG, and pipe welding standards such as ASME codes & standards.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards related to fire sprinkler systems is advantageous.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for measurements and fitting tasks.
- Commitment to safety regulations including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocol guidelines.
- Construction or pipeline experience is highly desirable for this role.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
