General Description - Will be responsible to provide patients education and referral for the treatment of their mental illness and substance abuse. Will assess patients for co-occurring disorders, provide educational materials on substance abuse and provide therapy and treatment dually diagnosed. Performs related duties as required.
Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Schedules are subject to change per the operational needs of the hospital. Applicants selected must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable cause as set forth in agency and bureau policies. Applicants selected must successfully complete a background check. This is a tobacco free campus.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related behavioral science from an accredited college or university.
- Education Substitution: Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) from the West Virginia Certification Board for Addiction and Prevention Professionals (WVCBAPP).
- Experience: None.
