First State Orthopaedics is seeking Full Time and Part Time Clinical Assistants to assist Orthopaedic Surgeons in the office with Medical Assistant Duties for our Downstate locations. Job duties include: assist and manage administrative and clinical tasks for physicians.
Qualifications and Skills:
Candidates with Medical Assistant, Athletic Trainer, Exercise Science, or Physical Therapy Assistant experience/background are preferred. Good computer skills and experience with PACS system. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Ability to make independent decisions using critical thinking, problem solving and perform responsibilities under stressful situations. Meet technical standards. Must be capable of working variable schedules.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities and Duties:
- Working knowledge of EHR and EPM system, experience with Next Gen a plus
- Prepare patient for examination, instruct patient on procedures and assist with examination
- Perform clinical tasks: remove casts/dressing, remove sutures/staples and prepare injections
- Generate forms for scheduling tests, surgery, physical therapy, work notes, Rx's & patient instructions.
- Ability to work flexible hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday-Friday, and travel between different office locations.
