THE POSITION
As a Residential Services Unit Manager with the Department of Human Services, you will guide dedicated staff who provide daily support to individuals at the Selinsgrove Center. This position gives you the opportunity to build strong teams and ensure high-quality habilitative services. You will help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized community environment. Your leadership will strengthen the care and support offered each day.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Residential Services Unit Manager oversees the planning and coordination of habilitative services for individuals in assigned residential areas at the Selinsgrove Center. This role requires strong leadership, organized planning, and clear communication to support staff and maintain a safe and effective community environment. As a Residential Services Unit Manager, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Planning: Organize work activities, assess needs, and monitor results to ensure effective delivery of services
- Staff Supervision: Guide supervisory and direct care staff through coaching, evaluation, and oversight of daily responsibilities
- Safety Oversight: Identify and investigate incidents to maintain a safe and healthful environment for individuals and staff
- Support Plan Direction: Lead the development and monitoring of Individual Support Plans and ensure goals and strategies are followed
- Record Maintenance: Review records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with facility standards
- Environmental Management: Coordinate inspections, repairs, and personal item needs to maintain a comfortable and safe living environment
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are available on the following shifts: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (1st shift); 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM (2nd shift); 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM (3rd shift).
- Weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts as needed
- 30-minute lunch (all shifts)
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years professional therapeutic experience in a residential program providing rehabilitative, restorative, or habilitative care program services for individuals with a developmental disability, including two years in a supervisory capacity, and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, education, nursing, business, or hospital administration; or
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and training which includes two years supervisory experience in a residential program providing rehabilitative, restorative, or habilitative care program services for individuals with a developmental disability.
