Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in a café or restaurant setting. This role requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and sanitation practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our customers while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including proper food storage and handling.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.
- Utilize basic math skills for portion control and recipe adjustments as needed.
- Engage with customers when necessary, providing excellent service and addressing any dietary concerns.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food service or culinary field is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems for order processing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices and food safety regulations.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing portion sizes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that satisfy customer expectations.
