Emerging Minds Community Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Outpatient Therapist to provide individual, family, and/or group therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based mental health services in an outpatient setting, supporting clients with emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric needs. The therapist will be responsible for managing a caseload, maintaining clinical documentation, and contributing to positive treatment outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy services based on client needs
- Conduct initial assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and treatment planning
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with medical necessity
- Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready documentation in compliance with DBHDS and payer requirements
- Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed
- Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, case managers, and external partners
- Provide crisis support and safety planning when clinically appropriate
- Maintain a consistent weekly caseload and productivity expectations
- Participate in clinical supervision (if applicable) and team meetings
Compensation Structure:
This position is directly tied to service delivery and client engagement.
- Compensation is based on completed sessions and billable services
- Rates vary based on:
- Licensure (Resident, LPC, LCSW, etc.)
- Experience and specialization
- Additional opportunities may include:
- Group therapy sessions
- High-volume caseload incentives
At this time, outpatient therapy roles are not structured as salaried positions, as services must align with client attendance and reimbursement.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Active or eligible for licensure in Virginia:
- LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Resident in Counseling, or Supervisee in Social Work
- Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic skills
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
- Ability to maintain documentation in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in outpatient or community-based mental health settings
- Familiarity with Medicaid and insurance billing requirements
- Experience working with diverse populations and high-need clients

- Complete all documentation within required timeframes
- Demonstrate strong client engagement and retention
- Support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
