Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming practices
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during interactions
- Monitor animal behavior for signs of stress or illness and report any concerns to staff or supervisors
- Assist with pet boarding by checking in/out pets, updating records, and ensuring proper documentation
- Support indoor activities such as supervising playtime to promote healthy activity levels
- Uphold safety standards through team lifting of heavy supplies or equipment and adhering to animal handling protocols
Requirements
- Previous experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet sitting, or kennel environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal behavior, and pet grooming techniques is a plus
- Ability to handle dogs and other pets confidently using appropriate animal restraint methods
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work throughout the day
- Experience with cleaning, sanitization of pet care facilities, and maintaining a hygienic environment
- Familiarity with pet care facility safety standards and animal care best practices is advantageous
