Job Summary
East Georgia Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Dental Navigator to join our dental team. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, customer-focused professional with extensive experience in dental front office operations, insurance verification, scheduling, and dental billing.
This position serves as the first point of contact for our patients while ensuring the daily operations of the dental front office run efficiently. We are looking for someone who is confident managing multiple priorities, knowledgeable in dental insurance and billing, and committed to providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Obtain necessary authorizations and referrals as needed.
- Process dental claims, post payments, and follow up on outstanding insurance claims.
- Collect patient payments and explain financial responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic dental record system.
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure an efficient schedule.
- Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and patients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all organizational policies and procedures.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of dental office experience required.
- Previous experience working in a dental front office required.
- Experience with dental insurance verification, claims submission, and billing required.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and common dental procedures.
- Strong computer skills and experience using dental practice management software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a community health center or multi-provider practice.
