About the Role:
MRHC Volunteers play an important role in supporting patients, visitors, and staff by providing assistance, comfort, and a welcoming presence throughout the medical center. Volunteers help enhance the overall patient experience while representing MRHC’s mission, values, and commitment to compassionate care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to commit to a regular volunteer schedule
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with the public and team members.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous volunteer or community service experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Provide wayfinding and general information as needed.
- Support departments with non-clinical tasks.
- Follow MRHC policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Skills:
Successful MRHC Volunteers demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others. They communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, visitors, and staff, work well as part of a team, and manage their time reliably. Volunteers should be able to remain calm, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a positive attitude and upholding MRHC’s standards of safety, confidentiality, and service excellence.
Pay:
This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
