We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative to support and enhance the professional development of our teaching staff. The Instructional Coach will work closely with educators to improve instructional practices and student outcomes across our K-8 school.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to analyze student data, identify instructional needs, and develop targeted improvement plans.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers in the implementation of research-based instructional strategies and best practices.
- Conduct classroom observations and model effective teaching techniques.
- Facilitate professional development workshops, training sessions, and PLCs (Professional Learning Communities) focused on curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.
- Assist teachers in designing and adapting lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs.
- Support the integration of technology tools and resources into instructional practices to enhance student engagement and learning.
- Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices related to teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with school leadership to align instructional coaching initiatives with school goals and improvement plans.
- Participate in data analysis meetings to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Organize, lead, facilitate, and oversee all aspects of the Battle of the Books program across participating schools. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating the annual competition; developing timelines and procedures; communicating with school administrators, teachers, students, and families; ensuring adherence to competition rules and guidelines; providing training and support to school teams and coaches; coordinating book selections and competition materials; scheduling meetings, practices, and competition events; managing logistics, scoring, and event operations; fostering student engagement and a love of reading; monitoring program effectiveness; and collaborating with school and district leadership to ensure a high-quality, equitable, and successful literacy competition that promotes academic excellence, teamwork, and lifelong reading habits.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to lead professional learning communities and workshops.
- Proficiency in educational technology tools and their application in instructional settings.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in instructional coaching practices.
- Additional certification in ESE (Exceptional Student Education) preferred.
- Serve as a resource and guide for teachers and staff in integrating technology and media literacy skills into the curriculum.
- Promote reading and literacy through engaging programs, events, and activities such as book fairs, author visits, and reading challenges.
