The East Aurora Swim Team (EAST) is a community-oriented swim program operated through the Town of Aurora, dedicated to fostering youth development through swimming. We practice at three local pools throughout the year, providing a supportive environment for swimmers of all skill levels.
Summary
We are seeking a passionate Swimming Coach to join the East Aurora Swim Team. This role involves training and mentoring young swimmers, helping them develop their skills and confidence in the water. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting a love for swimming while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to various skill levels.
- Conduct swim practices, focusing on technique, endurance, and competitive strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to swimmers during practices and competitions.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
- Organize swim meets and events, coordinating logistics with parents and team members.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship and teamwork.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a swimming coach or instructor is preferred.
- Strong swimming skills with knowledge of competitive techniques.
- Lifeguard certification is required for ensuring swimmer safety.
- Experience working with students or youth in a coaching capacity is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with swimmers and parents.
