Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating and coordinating patient care by collaborating with healthcare providers, scheduling appointments, educating patients, and ensuring smooth transitions between healthcare settings.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and tests for patients.
- Collect and review patient medical history and insurance information.
- Educate patients on their condition, treatment plan, and follow-up instructions.
- Coordinate care with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and specialists.
- Refer patients to appropriate community resources and support services.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to healthcare team.
- Assist with discharge planning and home care arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry and billing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and computer software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassion and understanding of patient needs.
Additional Information:
