PAY: Target salary for this role is $160,000–$185,000 annually, depending on experience.

This is a Staff-level Data Engineering opportunity with an innovative healthcare technology company building AI-powered products that transform how patient data is unified and utilized.
As a Staff Data Engineer, you'll own the design and development of the company's core data platform, building the foundation that powers analytics, AI, and clinical decision support. You'll architect modern data pipelines, establish trusted data models, and ensure patient privacy and compliance are built into every layer of the platform.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and build a scalable healthcare data platform and lakehouse architecture
- Develop and maintain production ELT and rETL pipelines
- Integrate data from wearables, laboratory systems, electronic health records, and FHIR-based healthcare sources
- Build trusted data models and data marts that support analytics and AI applications
- Ensure PHI separation, security, and HIPAA compliance are foundational design principles
- Establish engineering best practices for data quality, testing, and documentation
- Leverage AI tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining sound technical judgment
- Strong production experience with enterprise data warehouses and modern data lake/lakehouse architectures
- Experience with Databricks is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining dbt, ELT, and rETL pipelines
- Experience designing production data models
- Healthcare experience working with PHI/HIPAA-regulated data
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) data is a plus
- Experience with FHIR integrations is a plus
- Experience with analytics platforms such as Hex is preferred
- Builder mentality with a passion for delivering production solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
