- Conduct oral surgeries including dental extractions and other minor surgical procedures with precision and aseptic technique.
- Utilize dental imaging tools like X-rays to diagnose issues accurately and plan appropriate interventions.
- Implement infection control protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations and industry standards to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and update electronic health records using practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix.
- Collaborate with specialists in pediatric dentistry, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics, and oral surgery when necessary for comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health.
- Adhere to all dental office policies and procedures related to medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and infection control standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and current best practices in general dentistry.
- Experience performing dental extractions, root canal therapy (endodontics), prosthodontics procedures, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Ability to assess patient needs accurately through thorough examinations and diagnostic tools like medical imaging.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach that fosters trust and rapport.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols including aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation standards.
- Strong understanding of dental fabrication processes for crowns or bridges when applicable.
