The Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading the credit union's branch operations, member service delivery, operational systems, digital services, and process improvement initiatives.
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this role serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and the successful execution of strategic initiatives. The VP of Operations plays a vital role in delivering the Allied Experience.
Essential Duties
Operations Leadership & Service Delivery
· Provide leadership and guidance to Branch Managers and front-line teams to ensure exceptional member service and consistent execution of organizational goals
· Oversee daily branch operations, supporting team members in resolving operational issues and serving as an escalation point when needed
· Promote and reinforce a culture aligned with AlliedFCU’s core values and the “Allied Experience”
· Monitor service delivery standards and member interactions to ensure a positive, consistent experience across all locations
· Support staffing, performance management, and professional development to maintain a strong and engaged team
· Oversee operational workflows and support functions to ensure consistency and efficiency across the organization
Systems, Products & Operational Effectiveness
· Lead implementation of new products, services and technology enhancements
· Lead the CoreFour Committee to oversee the credit union’s core processing system
· Oversee digital banking platforms, card services, and operational vendors
· Monitor operational and service metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
· Improve processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency
Strategy, Compliance & Organizational Support
· Partner with the President/CEO and leadership team to develop and execute strategic initiatives and organizational goals
· Serve as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer, ensuring the Credit Union maintains compliance with all applicable regulations and reporting requirements
· Ensure compliance with Board approved policies, federal regulations and NCUA Rules and Regulations
· Serve as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO)
· Research and recommend enhancements to products, processes, and procedures based on member needs, industry trends, and operational data
· Collaborate with Marketing to ensure branch-level execution of marketing strategy, promotions, and member communications with consistent messaging across all locations
Competencies
· Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
· 6+ years of experience in a credit union or financial institution with increasing leadership responsibility
· Strong knowledge of branch operations, member service, and operational management
· Experience with core processing systems, digital banking, and card services
· Working knowledge of credit union regulations and compliance requirements
· Corelation experience, CCUE designation, and/or Graduate of SCMS are considered a plus
Working Conditions
No physical effort beyond what’s typically required in a normal office environment. Requires flexible time schedule. Potential for tight deadlines or time periods of high workload may require additional hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal. As this is a retail branch, occasional extended hours, including weekends, are expected.
Miscellaneous
Must be able to travel between branch locations and off-site meetings; a valid driver’s license may be required.
