Job description
The Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems, NICET Certified Technician Level II, will be joining the Optimum Fire & Security Federal Team in support of the Pentagon. All work for this position will be at the Pentagon. Daily duties will be testing and inspecting the fire alarm system at the Pentagon.
NICET Certified Fire Alarm Systems Inspector/Technician Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply applicable Codes and Standards including IBC, IFC, and NFPA 72
- Perform fire alarm inspections, in a multitude of differing environments, structures, and settings
- Extensive knowledge of fire alarm systems
- Extensive knowledge of building reports
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read installation and system manuals
- Ability to read blueprints and building plans
- Extensive knowledge of sprinkler and fire codes
- Ability to use hand and power tools
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational/technical/ school training is highly preferred; on-the-job training may be provided
- Two years of related experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders
- Physically able to install system hardware
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
- Comply with all Company, Client, and Federal safety policies
- Inspect new or existing installations, prepare reports, and make recommendations
NICET Certified Fire Alarm Systems Inspector/Technician Requirements:
- Minimum NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems ITM Level II
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to solve basic math problems
- Ability to complete site surveys, identify code issues, and find solutions
