We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, analyzing project specifications, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, and proposals
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Perform quantity takeoffs for all materials, labor, and equipment requirements
- Develop and maintain accurate estimating databases and cost models
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients during preconstruction phase
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Prepare bid proposals and presentations for clients
- Track market trends and material costs to ensure accurate pricing
- Participate in project handover meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimate to construction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Proficiency with estimating software (ProEst, Sage Estimating, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and materials
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Experience with various project delivery methods (Design-Build, CM at Risk, etc.)
