Description
Harvest Group is seeking a dynamic leader to join our Retail Media team as a Director or Senior Director, depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
The Harvest Group Retail Media team is seeking a proven leader with expertise thinking like a client and executive (e.g., CEO or CMO). It is essential that this leader brings an omnichannel perspective with the ability to develop and communicate effective and efficient retail media strategies and plans to all stakeholders. As a values-based integrated commerce agency in a hyper-growth stage, it's important that this leader has the passion, presence, and energy to embrace the journey we are on while helping pave the way for our team and company.
This role is a key leader responsible for helping clients define and execute their digital marketing and advertising strategies through holistic, full-funnel tactics across search, display, social, online video (OLV), connected TV (CTV), and emerging commerce media channels. This leader oversees the activation team responsible for bringing those strategies and plans to life, ensuring excellence in execution and measurable business results.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in omnichannel media strategy, retail media, attribution, measurement, and commerce marketing, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and solve complex business challenges for clients. This role partners closely with client stakeholders, agency strategy teams, and retailer partners to develop strategic plans and drive business results across leading retail media platforms including Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart, Shipt, and retail media networks such as Criteo, CitrusAd, PromoteIQ, and other emerging commerce media solutions.
The selected candidate will be responsible for driving team strategy, efficiency, scalability, and innovation while advancing client growth through thought leadership and deep expertise in the evolving eCommerce and omnichannel retail media landscape. Candidates hired at the Senior Director level will additionally be expected to influence broader organizational strategy, shape capability development, and help drive the future growth of Harvest Group's Retail Media practice.

Director Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and manage a growing Retail Media team in the planning and activation of campaigns across retail commerce spaces, along with delivering sound strategic media recommendations based on a clear understanding of client goals and objectives.
- Act as an advisor to clients in the goals and planning process to develop digital media strategies and deployments, with a lens across in-store, ecommerce, and retail media activations.
- Guide clients on strategy and optimization based on campaign results across Amazon (search and display), Walmart Connect (search and display), Kroger Precision Marketing, Target Roundel, Instacart, TradeDesk, and retail media networks such as Criteo, CitrusAd, & PromoteIQ
- Lead client success and support team members to address project work, discuss business trends and performance, and plan future engagements.
- Provide an executive presence with clients and support building and executing annual media plans that drive a full funnel marketing approach with awareness, consideration, and conversion audiences and tactics.
- Collaborate with Client Service, R&D, and Technology teams to deepen process and connection across retailers, accelerate client growth, and expand current Harvest capabilities.
- Responsible for ongoing thought leadership and opportunities that will drive client business results.
- Collaborate with leaders to maintain and further develop relationships with key retailers and other agencies to provide our clients access to initiatives, strategies, test and learn opportunities, and other key partnerships that support our clients in delivering their goals.
- Responsible for contributing to and leading larger Business reviews (QBRs, Annual Planning, etc.)

Senior Director Responsibilities (Additional responsibilities beyond those listed for Director)
- Define and evolve Harvest Group's Retail Media vision, capabilities, and long-term growth strategy, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs.
- Lead the development of scalable operating models, processes, and organizational structures that support team growth, efficiency, and continued excellence across retail media services.
- Serve as an executive advisor to senior client stakeholders, helping shape long-term commerce, omnichannel, and retail media strategies that drive sustainable business growth.
- Partner with Executive Leadership to identify and prioritize new service offerings, technology investments, partnerships, and innovation opportunities that strengthen Harvest's competitive position.
- Influence and align cross-functional leaders across Client Service, Commerce, Analytics, Technology, and R&D to ensure integrated solutions and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
- Own the development and execution of annual business plans, growth targets, financial objectives, workforce planning, and capability roadmaps for the Retail Media practice.
- Lead organizational change initiatives, ensuring teams are aligned, informed, and equipped to successfully navigate evolving client needs, technologies, and business priorities.
- Establish strategic relationships with retailer executives, platform partners, and industry leaders to create new opportunities for clients and Harvest Group.
- Drive thought leadership both internally and externally through industry engagement, speaking opportunities, retailer relationships, innovation initiatives, and market expertise.
- Mentor, coach, and develop future leaders within the organization, building leadership bench strength and succession plans for the Retail Media practice.
- Evaluate business performance across clients, teams, and service offerings, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities while recommending strategic adjustments to leadership.
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, resource planning, and investment decisions to ensure long-term scalability and profitability of the Retail Media business.
Director Requirements
- 10-12+ years of retail media management, digital commerce, omnichannel marketing, and/or eCommerce sales leadership experience working with major retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc.)
- Must have a strong understanding at least two of the four listed Retail Media platforms – Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target-Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing
- Demonstrated success leading client strategy, media planning, activation, optimization, and measurement across retail media platforms.
- Strong command of commerce platforms, syndicated research tools, and reporting resources such as Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target-Roundel, Kroger Precision Marketing, Instacart, and retail media networks including Criteo and CitrusAd.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
- Strong understanding of Demand Side Platform (DSP) activation and optimization techniques
- In-depth knowledge of the retail media landscape is critical
- Ability to connect Full-Funnel Marketing activations (search AND display) to retailer specific sales goals and performance
- Knowledge of activation & optimization techniques across Retailer Media & eCommerce platforms is a must
- Demonstrated critical thinking & problem-solving abilities
- Guiding clients and client teams through clear and concise communication, both written and verbal. Proven track record of selling ideas clearly & delivering value.
- Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlines

Senior Director Requirements
- 15+ years of retail media, omnichannel marketing, digital commerce, eCommerce sales, agency leadership, or related experience with significant leadership responsibility.
- 8+ years of people leadership experience, including experience leading managers or senior-level individual contributors, building high-performing teams, and developing future leaders.
- Demonstrated success creating and scaling retail media capabilities, business units, service offerings, or organizational functions.
- Experience managing large client portfolios, business units, or multimillion-dollar retail media investments.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and influencing executive-level stakeholders across organizations.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing business performance, forecasting, resource planning, budgeting, and profitability objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop long-term business strategies, identify growth opportunities, and translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Experience driving organizational change, leading through ambiguity, and building alignment across teams and stakeholders.
- Recognized industry expertise with a strong understanding of emerging retail media trends, technologies, measurement frameworks, and commerce ecosystem dynamics.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior client leaders, retailer partners, and internal stakeholders.

We carefully consider a wide-ranging list of factors to determine compensation, including but not limited to level of job-related experience, knowledge, skills, location, etc. Base pay is just one component of the total compensation and benefits package.
The national hiring range for the Director position is $160,000-$180,000/annually. The national hiring range for the Sr. Director position is $175,000 - $200,000/annually. Additionally, this position is eligible to participate in our bonus program.
