Cordoba is a leading civil engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support a Wastewater project for our Water sector. The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will perform engineering tasks and be very familiar with PLC, HMI, SCADA design and installation, as well as network configuration for process control systems. This role will assist with the design, development, and maintenance of automated control systems for industrial processes, review of instrumentation and control systems, including control narratives and P&IDs. Create and review a wide range of I&C deliverables, such as instrument specifications, data sheets, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and I/O lists. Work with project management, users, and cross-functional teams to align project goals and provide technical support for installation and troubleshooting.

Review and manage the design and creation of the new control system.

Coordinate with Contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain operations of the wastewater treatment plant during field implementation of I&C System.

Assist with project design, scope of work, and technical meetings.

Assist in problem solving and troubleshooting.

Coordinate with Contractor, Plant Operations, and other Project Team Members for delivery of Work compliant to the Contract.

Review project specifications, time schedules, and costs.

Support testing, assessing, calibrating, and review modification of instruments and equipment.

Ensure designs and work adhere to project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required

3-5 years of applicable experience in the design of water projects required

Advanced knowledge of instrumentation engineering principles and control systems design required

Familiarity with Honeywell control systems preferred

Proficiency in creating and reviewing I&C drawings, such as loop diagrams and P&IDs

Experience with industry standards like those from ISA, and familiarity with standards like PSM

Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work within a team environment

Experience with the operation of basic industrial operational systems and industry equipment

Willing to travel locally as needed

Willing and able to work extended hours if needed
Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
Work Location: Hybrid 1-2 days per week in the Los Angeles, CA office
Travel: Up to 10% travel to other site locations within Los Angeles, CA as needed
Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship
Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check
