JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Instrumentation Technician
Scope of Work: Experience to include flow / temp / pressure / instrumentation, relays and timers, pneumatic controls, and alarm shutdown systems. System knowledge to include water treatment, gas plants, steam generators, water distribution systems, boilers, burners, low NOx burners, combustion control, emissions testing, SCR systems, field service and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities: Loop checking on centralized I/O PLC systems set-up, calibration and troubleshooting of temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, level, density, viscosity, pH, conductivity, analyzers, control valves, burners, and Flame Safegaurd Controls. Commissioning of PLC base and non-PLC base combustion control systems.
Required to troubleshoot, service, and maintain burners, combustion & heating processes, and other process automation equipment. I/O wiring & addressing systems, I/O card test and change-out, and processor change-out.
Assist during start up on specific systems. Should be capable of restoring utilities equipment to normal function after an unplanned breakdown. Must be responsible for reading, understanding and following all relevant procedures for Health & Safety, follow company policies & procedures, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Educational Requirements: The successful applicant must have 2 years’ mechanical and electrical experience in an industrial environment and have the ability to calibrate industrial instruments. Position requires knowledge of PLC’s, combustion Controls, adjusting burners, reading electrical and mechanical drawings & blueprints, and proficiency in performing emissions testing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger handle, feel, reach with hands arms, and talk hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
