Children’s Ministry Caregiver (PT – 25 hrs Max)
Reports To: Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Summary:
Our Children's Ministry Caregivers are gospel-minded people who not only have experience working with children of varied ages, but have a desire to work with and serve at risk women and children in urban areas of our city, enjoy working in a highly dynamic setting, and are adaptable and flexible. The right candidate will be a compassionate, capable and loving Christian servant.
Ministry team qualifications:
- Has experience working with or teaching toddler, pre-k, and elementary aged children in a professional or personal environment.
- Is flexible and willing to adapt to possible schedule or activity changes.
- Expresses full agreement with BsideU’s statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
- Complies with the policies and procedures of BsideU for Life.
- Is dependable, stable, and capable of following through on commitments.
- Is compassionate towards and has a sincere desire to reach out to abortion-vulnerable or abortion minded women or any woman seeking the services provided at BsideU.
- Maintains a consistent life-affirming philosophy and would never refer or advise a woman to have an abortion and respects confidentiality.
- Exhibits grace under pressure and feels comfortable interacting across multiple age groups—from young adults to retirees, who are interested in the ministry.
- Ability to lift children and/or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our Children's Ministry Coordinator and children's ministry volunteers to provide a safe and nurturing place for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. (Exception: we accept children through 5th grade during JCPS school closures - holidays, summer break etc.).
- Show the love of Jesus through interaction, lessons, and activities with pre-K children.
- Assure that the children's area is always clean, safe, and in all other ways suitable for learning and for playing.
- Maintain all safety requirements for childcare area and building.
- Foster commitment, retention, and always have a team-member attitude.
- Thursday evening hours may be required (through 8:15pm).

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
