Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dental Front Desk Receptionist. Promptness and professionalism is the key to success! Work hours are 6:30am to 3:15pm (M/T/TH), 6:30am to 5:15pm (Wed.), and 6:30am to 1:00pm (Fri.)
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental office operations, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient service. This role involves managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, medical and dental recordkeeping, and ensuring smooth administrative workflows within a busy dental practice environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical billing, and office management software, contributing to an efficient and welcoming practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism.
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits through insurance portals, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private carriers; perform insurance eligibility checks and pre-authorizations.
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing inquiries efficiently using dental billing systems such as Dentrix - QuickPay.
- Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations; update electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette; address patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, or treatment plans promptly.
- Manage administrative tasks such as filing dental records, handling correspondence, and supporting office management activities to ensure seamless office operations.
- Assist with intake procedures, including gathering patient registration information and explaining clinic policies to new patients.
- Support the clinical team by coordinating care plans and ensuring all documentation aligns with dental coding standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental office environment is required; clinic experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft is essential.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and dental billing practices is necessary for accurate documentation review and insurance processing.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and clinic workflows enhances efficiency in managing patient intake and records.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
