Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Globe, Arizona.
This position is ideal for a radiation therapy professional with at least 1 year of recent clinical experience who is comfortable delivering prescribed radiation treatments to oncology patients in a hospital or cancer-treatment environment.
The Radiation Therapist will work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, oncology nurses, and other members of the cancer-care team to deliver safe, accurate, and compassionate radiation therapy.
Candidates must hold current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T), current BLS certification, and the appropriate state licensure or eligibility required to practice in Arizona.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions and approved treatment plans.
- Accurately position patients for radiation treatments.
- Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity, treatment site, treatment parameters, and prescribed dose before treatment.
- Follow established radiation safety procedures and treatment protocols.
- Monitor patients throughout treatment and promptly report changes in clinical condition.
- Maintain precise patient positioning and reproducibility between treatment sessions.
- Assist with simulation and treatment-planning procedures as assigned.
- Use immobilization devices and positioning equipment appropriately.
- Review treatment documentation for accuracy before delivering therapy.
- Record treatment information accurately in the patient's medical record.
- Maintain timely and complete documentation using Epic.
- Educate patients regarding treatment procedures, positioning, expected side effects, and safety considerations.
- Provide compassionate support to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other clinical staff.
- Participate in quality-assurance and radiation-safety activities.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and regulatory standards.
- Identify equipment or treatment concerns and escalate them to the appropriate clinical or technical personnel.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience
- Current ARRT-T – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Radiation Therapy
- Current BLS certification
- Appropriate state license or authorization required to practice Radiation Therapy in Arizona
- Experience delivering radiation therapy in a clinical environment
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and patient positioning
- Ability to accurately follow treatment plans and physician prescriptions
- Strong attention to detail and patient-safety awareness
- Ability to communicate effectively with oncology patients and multidisciplinary clinical teams
Preferred Qualifications
Strong candidates may also have:
- Previous travel or contract Radiation Therapist experience
- Hospital-based radiation oncology experience
- Experience in a busy cancer treatment center
- Epic charting experience
- Experience with CT simulation
- Experience with advanced treatment techniques
- Experience working with linear accelerator systems
- Familiarity with oncology information and treatment-management systems

Schedule Requirements
- Day Shift
- Five 8-hour shifts per week
