Position Summary
Edge Electric of WI is looking for a skilled Residential Journeyman Electrician with experience in new residential construction. This position is primarily focused on wiring new homes, multi-home developments, remodel projects, additions, and other residential construction projects from rough-in through final trim.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and able to work efficiently while maintaining clean workmanship, code compliance, and job site safety. This is a great opportunity for an experienced residential electrician who enjoys building projects from the ground up and wants steady full-time work with a strong electrical team.
What You’ll Do
As a Residential Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for electrical installations on residential construction projects, including:

Installing residential electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code.

Performing rough-in wiring for new homes, additions, remodels, garages, and other residential construction projects.

Installing boxes, wiring, panels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting circuits, switch legs, home runs, and device layouts.

Reading and following plans, layouts, job notes, builder specifications, and electrical drawings.

Completing trim-out work, including switches, receptacles, light fixtures, smoke detectors, ceiling fans, appliances, and other residential electrical devices.

Installing electrical panels, subpanels, breakers, grounding systems, and service equipment.

Wiring kitchens, bathrooms, basements, bedrooms, garages, mechanical rooms, and exterior areas.

Installing dedicated circuits for appliances, HVAC equipment, sump pumps, garage equipment, EV chargers, and other residential loads.

Installing low voltage pathways or wiring when required by the project.

Coordinating with builders, project managers, inspectors, and other trades on active job sites.

Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout each phase of construction.

Keeping tools, materials, equipment, and company vehicles organized and properly maintained.

Working independently without constant direct supervision.

Following workplace safety procedures at all times.

Participating in toolbox talks, safety audits, and related safety functions.

Identifying, correcting, and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner.

Working as part of a dependable and professional team.

Performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

5 years of electrical experience required.

New residential construction experience strongly preferred.

Journeyman Electrician license preferred.

Strong rough-in, trim-out, layout, and installation skills.

Ability to read plans, layouts, and job instructions.
