Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable CDL A Driver specialized in container transportation to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to transport freight, containers, and equipment across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial driving, route planning, and vehicle handling will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other necessary tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Drive on assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery of containers and freight to various destinations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, including logs, delivery receipts, and route sheets.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks and driving tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route driving and freight handling.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks is desirable.
- Strong understanding of load & unload procedures and safety standards for freight transportation.
