We are looking for a Courier to deliver mail, materials, supplies, and equipment across key City locations, including Phoenix Aviation facilities, Deer Valley Airport, Goodyear Airport, and Downtown Phoenix offices. This is a temporary to possible permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate an automobile, small truck, or delivery van to transport mail, books, supplies, and equipment to designated facilities
- Make deliveries and pickups to specific departments, offices, and personnel
- Pick up items for immediate, next-day, or future delivery
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance
- Provide excellent customer service with integrity and efficiency
Requirements:
- Six months of experience operating vehicles heavier than a standard passenger car (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift and move objects over 50 lbs. distances of 20+ feet
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees
- Willingness to learn routes and procedures through on-the-job training
Additional Information:
- Use of personal or City vehicle required; personal vehicle use requires personal insurance coverage if not authorized to drive a City vehicle
- Some positions may require additional duties depending on location, assignment, or shift
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and MVD check
Pay: $19.00 per hour
