We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Survey Technician Intern to support survey crews on a Forest Service project in the High Uintas. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on field experience while working in a rugged and beautiful mountain environment.

Assist survey crews with fieldwork on a Forest Service project in the High Uintas.
- Carry and set up survey equipment while working across rugged, mountainous terrain.
- Assist with collecting accurate field measurements and survey data.
- Help survey crews locate, identify, and document project features in the field.
- Learn and apply basic surveying techniques, equipment, and field procedures under the direction of experienced surveyors.
- Maintain and organize survey equipment and supplies.
- Work as part of a team to complete daily field assignments safely and efficiently.
- Spend extended periods outdoors hiking and working in varying weather and terrain conditions.
- Follow all company and project safety procedures while working in remote areas.
- Perform other field-related duties as assigned.
- Interest in surveying, civil engineering, construction, environmental science, geography, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Current college or high school students, recent graduates, or individuals interested in gaining hands-on surveying experience are encouraged to apply.
- Enjoys hiking and working outdoors.
- Comfortable hiking several miles over rugged and uneven terrain while carrying survey equipment and supplies.
- Able to work in mountainous and remote environments for extended periods.
- Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
- Must be available for approximately 2–3 months beginning at the end of August.
- Previous surveying or field experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
