Total Quality Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee luxury residential remodeling, additions, and custom home projects throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing residential remodeling, additions, and custom home projects ranging from approximately $50,000 to $500,000+, while maintaining exceptional client experiences and delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to TQC quality standards.
The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients during construction and is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, internal staff, schedules, budgets, quality control, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, proactive communication, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and budgets prior to project start
- Develop and maintain project schedules
- Coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, inspections, and project milestones
- Identify potential issues before they impact project performance
- Maintain project momentum and remove obstacles to progress
Client Experience & Communication
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout construction
- Conduct regular client meetings and project updates
- Manage expectations proactively
- Resolve concerns professionally and efficiently
- Deliver a high-touch customer experience consistent with TQC values
Budget & Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets and job costs
- Track labor, material, and subcontractor performance against budget
- Identify and address cost overruns early
- Ensure all approved changes are properly documented and billed
- Review invoices and approve subcontractor payments
Schedule Management
- Develop and maintain realistic project schedules
- Coordinate multiple trades and project activities
- Minimize delays through proactive planning
- Document schedule impacts and recovery plans when necessary
- Ensure projects remain on track toward completion milestones
Quality Control
- Perform regular project inspections
- Verify work meets plans, specifications, and TQC quality standards
- Minimize punch list items and callbacks
- Ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly
- Maintain a culture of craftsmanship and accountability
Team Leadership
- Coordinate subcontractors and in-house field staff
- Provide direction and support to Lead Carpenters and Journeyman Carpenters
- Foster teamwork and positive jobsite culture
- Hold trade partners accountable to quality, schedule, and communication expectations
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate project records within JobTread
- Complete daily logs, schedules, meeting notes, and project documentation
- Manage RFIs, change orders, selections, approvals, and project correspondence
- Ensure project information remains current and accessible
Safety & Professionalism
- Promote safe jobsite practices
- Ensure jobsites remain organized, clean, and professional
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with clients and trade partners
- Represent TQC's values and reputation at all times
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of construction project management experience
- Residential remodeling and/or custom home construction experience
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong budgeting and cost-control skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Experience managing luxury residential remodeling projects
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
- Experience with JobTread, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar project management software
- Estimating or preconstruction experience
- Residential construction certifications or industry training
