Bakery Associate, Part Time
We’re seeking a warm, detail-driven Bakery Assistant who thrives in a guest-facing, fast-paced environment. This role is perfect for someone who finds joy in hospitality, and takes pride in being part of a close-knit, high-performing team. You'll help assemble and package our beautiful macarons verifying every cookie looks as good as it tastes in our production kitchen, and assist customers in our retail shop.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: Starting at $16 per hour (based on experience)
Job Requirements
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Guest Experience & Hospitality:
- Greet every guest with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm
- Communicate confidently about menu offerings, ingredients, and allergens
- Accurately ring in orders and handle cash with care and precision
- Package and garnish pastries with consistency, attention to detail, and pride
- Deliver a high level of hospitality that reflects our brand and values
2. Front of House Operations:
- Clock in on time and arrive shift-ready as scheduled
- Keep the pastry case fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing
- Complete Front of House opening and closing checklists accurately
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, proper labeling, and storage standards
- Wash dishes throughout the day and keep the dish station clean and efficient
3. Teamwork & Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain smooth daily operations
- Support kitchen needs with small projects such as scaling ingredients, zesting fruit, and prep tasks
- Communicate clearly, respectively, and proactively with the team
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support a cohesive and successful workplace
4. Compliance & Accountability:
- Follow all health, safety, and food handling regulations at all times
- Manage time, breaks, and clocking in/out accurately and honestly
- Maintain a professional presence and uphold company standards consistently
- Work comfortably and safely in an environment with food allergens, including nuts
5. Macarons Assembly & Packaging:
- Carefully match macarons tops and bottoms to create the perfect pair
- Transfer completed macarons to trays and packaging boxes for distribution
- Maintain consistency and quality with every batch
- Assist the production team with basic prep and packaging tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Strong customer service skills with clear, confident communication
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, can-do attitude
- High attention to detail and strong time-management skills
- Willingness and desire to learn, grow, and take feedback
- Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and proper food handling
- Passion for French pastries
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and follow instructions consistently
